Oh Holy Crap!

Guess who got his brand spanking new toobie RIPPED out of his tummy, sutures and all?

I'll give you one guess.

Yup, that would be my munchkin.

So we cleaned up the blood gushing EVERYWHERE, found a spare Mic G tube from our last ever -so- fun gastrostomy adventure, and popped that sucker in the quickly shrinking stoma.

Have you ever heard the saying "if it wasn't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all"...

... that's us.

After a record setting trip in and out of APH's ER (they had a mad influx of possible swine flu cases in the ER today).. the surgeon looked him over and was able to aspirate stomach contents. He reassured me that we'd done exactly what they would have done for him and politely hurried us out the door.

In his words, "you don't want to leave here with anything you didn't come in with".

i.e. swine flu.

We're home now.

V is happy as ever.

And Mommy is relatively freaked out.

  1. Oh my gosh that's a Saturday!!As for the H1N1 ... I will be posting about it probably tonight and seriously, not to ignite panic and mayhem but some of us should definitely be more worried then others. My laid back pediatrician has said,in no uncertain terms ... it's lock down for Miss Zoey.Just when we were tasting freedom ... oh well.Hope Sunday is better.

  2. Oh Holy Crap is putting it very politely. If it were my blog title it would be a bunch of bleeps. God Bless you for being able to handle things like that.

  3. Oh my goodness! Bless your heart, nothing like a little adrenaline rush huh? Addy pulled her mickey button out once and we had to have it surgically replaced, so I am always on alert with hers too!

  4. Oh sheesh. I'm just glad it didn't invoke a hospital stay for you guys.

  5. Holy crap is right. You sound like you couls handle anything and everything. Glad you got out of the hospital and are home.

  6. Barf.
    Barf and gag.
Vincencheeto, you are in BIG trouble, mister.

OOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo...(but your headwear absolutely makes up for my book anyway...)

    Way to go, SuperMom. You...are...a...wonder.

  7. p.s. Is V getting the H1N1 vaccine? Between Synagis, flu and now the 2 stage H1N1 and the slurry of injections her one year appointment holds, I'm not looking forward to the next pediatrician visit...
